A Brief History
In early 1954, ten Miniature Schnauzer breeders and exhibitors decided to form a breed club
for Mini Schnauzer enthusiasts in Southern California. The success our club
has enjoyed is due to the dedication of these founding members (listed below) as well as many other members who have maintained our strong commitment to the breed:
Florence
Bradburn
Glenn Fancy
Jean Fancy
June Von Haley
Mike Lally |
Bea Millan
Evelyn Peterson
Gerald Peterson
Betty Taylor
Ruth Ziegler |
MISSION of the CLUB:
The goals of the Miniature Schnauzer Club of Southern California
shall be:
- To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Miniature
Schnauzers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;
- To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved
by the American Kennel Club as the only standard
of excellence by which Miniature Schnauzers shall
be judged;
- To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed
by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog
shows and obedience trials;
- To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials
under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
